Centroid column details

You do not need this page to place an order. We read the pick-and-place export of your CAD tool, and an ODB++ archive needs no columns at all. This page is for those who want to know what our import reads from a centroid. Back to the Centroid page.

The columns below come straight from the definitions our import tool works with, including every column name it knows. A unit or an angle in a column name, such as (mm), [mil] or (deg), is ignored when matching.

Designator

Mandatory

Reference designator of the placement — must match a designator in the BOM.

X

Mandatory

X coordinate of the placement.

Y

Mandatory

Y coordinate of the placement.

Side

Optional

Board side of the placement: top or bottom. Omit only when every part is top side.

Recognised headers: board side, layer, mirror, placement side, side, tb, top/bottom
How the values are read: Each distinct value resolves to TOP, BOTTOM or IGNORE (skip the row) through a per-value mapping for this import. An unmapped value is passed through unchanged for a downstream heuristic to interpret, so check the resolved mapping when the file uses anything other than plain top/bottom.

Orientation

Optional

Rotation of the placement in degrees.

Recognised headers: angle, orientation, rot, rotate, rotation
