Parts and suppliers
A PCBA is a board plus the parts on it. This page is about the parts: where we buy them, what they cost you, and what we do when one is hard to get. In short: we buy at the distributors you know, only what is in stock, and you pay their price. We add no markup.
When we say component, we mean an electronic part. When we say part, it can be anything small and technical, so also a screw, a nut or a spacer.
Where we buy
We buy from the suppliers below. Before we order, our BOM Search Tool checks the stock and the price at each of them. So we only order parts that are actually on the shelf. The delivery times are averages to our workshop, in working days.

If you know which supplier and order number you want, put them in your BOM. Then there is no doubt about which part and which variant we buy. How to do that is on the Bill of Materials page. You do not have to think about packaging. Reel, cut tape, tube, tray or loose in a bag: we work with any packaging, so we simply buy what is in stock.
What the parts cost you
We do not add a markup on parts. You pay what the supplier charges us, the same price you would pay if you ordered at Farnell, Digi-Key or Mouser yourself. Our work is in the assembly price, not hidden in the parts.
When a part is hard to get
Sometimes none of our suppliers has a part in stock. Or it is only offered on the Digi-Key Marketplace, where a third party sells it and we do not buy. In that case you send the part to us. Mark it in the KLA-CC column of your BOM and read the consignment instructions.
Do you still have the part on an old board? Send us that board and we desolder the part for you, free of charge. That way you can keep testing while the part is out of stock.
For resistors and capacitors you usually only give a value. We may then pick any equivalent part with that value. For other parts you decide: put the alternatives you accept in extra MPN columns, or use the Allow alternatives column to tell us that an equivalent is fine.
Consignment list
For every project we make a consignment list. It lists every part you send to us, with the designator, the MPN if there is one, and the quantity we need.
