Make or Buy: why not both?

🔧 Make or Buy? Sometimes it's not a matter of either/or, but simply doing both.

When developing a new ProtoPCBA, DeltaProto B.V. once again faced that classic dilemma: Do we buy this part off the shelf? Or do we build something ourselves?

It involved a mechanically relatively simple, but crucial component. And yes, of course you look at price, delivery time and long-term quality.

But... first you need to actually find it. And that turned out to be tricky enough. If you spend more time googling than engineering -- and even Google Lens has no idea what you mean -- then you know: 🛠️ we're going to build it ourselves. (To be fair: we also started a procurement track, you never know.)

🎯 Question: Is there actually something like a technical website, Facebook group or similar? A place where engineers can help each other with their specific knowledge? Or is that just this comment section?

Let us know -- or share how you make these kinds of decisions👇
